We’re rather unstuffy. We hope you don’t mind.
Dave Jessep was never quite like other accountants. And back in 2006, he founded an accounting firm that was never quite like other accounting firms.
We’ve always been a forwards-looking company, helping customers see where they’re going rather than giving them a backwards-looking summary of where they’ve already been. Our clients love that we speak their language and make an effort to really ‘get’ what their business is about.
Plus we won’t look at you sternly over the tops of our glasses if you’ve accidentally lost a receipt.
We’re technology-minded, recommending new software and services that make business easier. DJCA is leading the revolution in cloud computing for accounting – we were the world’s first Platinum Partner of the highly regarded Xero accounting software. For all our hard work, Xero have awarded us their Accounting Partner of the Year title for both 2010 and 2011.
DJCA is at your side with the advice you need, when and where you need it. At the end of the day what we do is pretty simple – you tell us your business goals, and we help you get there.

Richard merged his practice with DJCA in 2009, claiming that the vibrant team at DJCA would help him stay young. It must be true because he’s been spotted mountain biking on the Port Hills.
At DJCA Richard is responsible for a portfolio of clients, including many valued clients that came across with him from Brittenden Accounting Services. He’s an expert in compliance, particularly as it pertains to the construction industry.
Tamara Moriarty Sidekick Accountant

Tamara has now had over nine years working in the Accounting Industry, gaining lots of experience in growth building and mentoring along the way. She has become quite the ace in management accounting and provides our clients with all sorts of advice from specialised consulting to valuations to amalgamations.
If that wasn’t enough to keep her busy, Tamara is also leading the way in our internal processes and systems review. It’s her hard work that helps keep us one step ahead of the pack.
Tamara is a big fan of travelling and has even spent four months running a resort for a friend in Vanuatu. Now with a baby under her wing, her hobbies tend to be a little more chilled. Tamara loves relaxing with the hubby and hosting some fantastic dinner parties.
Katherine Clarke Sidekick Accountant
Katherine's role at DJCA is to provide guidance, offer support and mentor our Junior Accounting teams.

Having spent about seven years in the industry, she has enjoyed being exposed to a wide array of clients. She's worked closely with project development/mall expansions, health and legal professionals, the arts, manufacturers and investments. We are very happy to have her and her experience join the team.
It wasn't always accounting for Katherine though, as she's also gained a Diploma in Classical Ballet. After full time professional training throughout her earlier years, it was only after an injury hit that she decided to change fields. Although a little unfortunate for her, we are happy she made the switch!
Cameron Robertson Intermediate Accountant
Cameron graduated from the University of Canterbury in 2009 with a BCom, majoring in Accounting. He is one of our intermediate accountants in Christchurch, and is only a stone's throw away from becoming a Chartered Accountant!

After realising this was indeed what she wanted to do, Jessica moved to the big smoke and completed her Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Commercial Law. She now has her mind set on becoming a Chartered Accountant.

Being an avid traveller, she was very happy to complete 6 months of her studies over in Canada. With a degree to her name, Lisa came back to NZ and settled in Christchurch, where she’s been working in a large accounting firm for the past 18 months.
Another big fan of summer and beaches, Lisa was definitely spoilt for choice back in her hometown of Whakatane. Luckily she’s also a big fan of Snowboarding, and is quite happy up the local mountains here in winter too!

Sales and Marketing
Eva Perrone Marketing Executive
Graduating from the University of Canterbury back in 2009 (BCom, endorsed in Marketing), Eva readily admits that her "nerdy side" loves anything to do with business.
Originally joining the djca team in 2011 as part of the Business Development team, Eva now heads up our Marketing department. Since then Eva, our in-house travelling gypsy, has spent time working in both our Christchurch and Auckland offices, and just recently relocated to London to help Dave set up our first ever UK office.
Eva is a big fan of good food and good weather and loves travelling to experience them both. After her studies, she travelled around the world doing everything from pouring drinks in an upmarket London wine bar, working on a coffee farm in Hawaii and volunteering in India. She's now settled into her role at djca promoting our Sidekick product.
Chelsea Brook Business Development Executive
With a degree from University of Canterbury (BCom, endorsed in International Business) and a heap of travel under her belt, Chelsea is here to help with the development of our business.
Chelsea's role involves meeting with prospective clients for a good old fashioned chat, organising super awesome events like seminars, and finding fresh ideas to keep our company as forward thinking and beneficial to our customers as possible.
Chelsea gets her thrills by exploring walking tracks on the port hills, hanging out with her "too cute for words" nephews, trying out new restaurants and dancing with the Crusader Cheerleaders.
Assistants and Administrators
Vanessa Burt Office Manager
If somebody asks ‘Who is the best person to do this tricky job?” our answer is likely to be Vanessa. She is our all round superstar and Office Manager.
In between solving all our problems, Vanessa completes our clients’ administrative duties, advises them on their tax obligations, acts as our one stop Xero helpdesk and even completes the odd tax return. You can just call her our ultimate Sidekick!
She is also a qualified Group Ride (aka spin) instructor, so in her spare time you will find her at the gym, hanging with her 10 year old son Tyler, or pottering around the garden with her dog, cats, and rabbits - a bit of a pet farm to say the least!
Charlotte Roberts Administration Assistant
Charlotte, our Administration Assistant, plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running of the DJCA office. Helping out with everything and anything, Charlotte sure knows a thing or two about how we do things around here!
Charlotte holds a degree in Travel and Tourism and has over 4 years of front line experience. However we're convinced her fantastic skills in multi-tasking and organising chaos must come from being a Mum to her beautiful two year old daughter Riley.
When she’s not hanging out with the DJCA team, Charlotte loves relaxing with family and friends.
Emily-Jane Ullrich Team Development Manager
The lovely Emily-Jane or "E-J" wears many hats in DJCA and is responsible for on-boarding our constant inflow of new clients, general office management, and Human Resources Management. She is also in charge of our recruiting - we just keep on growing!

Toni is our friendly receptionist who you’re likely to meet when you either pop in or call up. Helping out with many aspects of our office administration, Toni ensures all clients are well taken care of.
Originating from a racing stable and dairy farm in Canterbury, it’s no surprise Toni grew up loving the outdoors. As well as motor biking and horse riding on the farm, she enjoys almost all sports, with her favourites being netball and volleyball.
Toni has 6 years of hospitality and retail experience under her belt, and has completed a travel and tourism course... Talk about an all-rounder!

In her free time Toni-Anne enjoys swimming, going to the gym, watching movies, trying new foods, and travelling to all sorts of exciting places around the world. How she fits it all in we'll never know!
Harry The Dog
Meet Harry! Loyal friend, official door greeter, and all around good guy. Always happy to meet a new face, and never one to turn down a pat or a tasty treat, you will find Harry the Spoodle hanging out in our Christchurch office.
Harry likes long walks on the beach, anyone that will give him attention, and sleeping on our Office Manager Vanessa’s bed. Yep, he’s a spoilt pooch, but we absolutely love having his happy face around the office!
